E-pedal taxi service across Hammersmith Bridge on hold
You might have heard that our e-pedal taxi service over Hammersmith Bridge is now on hold. We had to stop the service as works on the bridge were due to start and the consultants needed to narrow the access for pedestrians and cyclists for safety reasons (you may have received Richmond Council’s letter drop of last weekend). We have continued our conversations with Hammersmith and Fulham Council and plan to meet the TfL project manager together in the new year to understand better when the bike can start running again. We are hoping that, once all heavy machinery is in place, TfL will find a way to allow the rickshaw on the bridge without compromising any health and safety requirements. We will continue to push for the bike to be allowed to cross the bridge with all stakeholders. It makes a difference to the lives of so many vulnerable and elderly people in Barnes who are unable to get to medical appointments and services in Hammersmith without making very long and slow journeys by bus.
