Winning bids for the future of Barnes
Bring out the bubbly! We have won a major grant for much needed works to the High Street! Woop, woop!
The grant is from the Council’s Community Fund and it is for works to address the congestion caused by the pinch point outside M&S, for pavement widening at the narrowest points on the High Street and hopefully for an east bound bus stop. We have already started working with the Council on this exciting project. All proposals will be subject to consultation so everyone will have an opportunity to have their say.
Even more good news.....I have been supporting a small group, working with Friends of Barnes Common, with a project to improve Vine Road recreation ground with a range of new facilities including space for skating (as in skate boards not on ice!). This project has been awarded a grant from the same fund for feasibility and promises some exciting improvements to this well-used rec.
