Barnes Community Parklet
Barnes Community Parklet
The Barnes Community Parklet was installed in the Church Road parade back in August and since then has been full of people, young and old, able and less-able, socialising with friends and meeting new people. It has been more successful as an example of community cohesion than we could have hoped. In the last few days we have met lots of enthusiastic supporters on the parklet and these are some of the things they have told us:
– ‘I come here every day, even if it is raining, and watch the world go by. It’s a great space to meet new people’
- ‘We love the parklet. It is very accessible to people in wheelchairs and it means we can sit outside and feel safe’
- ‘This space is amazing. It has encouraged a real sense of community in Barnes that cannot be achieved by sitting on a bench overlooking the pond.’
If you love the parklet as much as we do, please support it by telling the council. Just click on the following link to generate an email of support and click the send button: flowcode.com/p/dyPUKaiBC?fc=0
