BCA AGM Rescheduled

Change of date for BCA AGM to 22 October 

With the Covid-19 requirements for no group meetings, our AGM scheduled for 23 April will now move to 22 October. All other arrangements for location and time remain the same. 

This means if you would still like to apply to become a BCA Trustee you can still do so. 

We are seeking Trustees who have a financial background as our Treasurer is retiring after many years’ service and those who have experience of social media and marketing. If you would like an application pack or wish to discuss what is involved with an existing Trustee, please contact Leyla by email at membership@barnes-ca.org. NOTICE IS GIVEN OF THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 

TO BE HELD ON Thursday 22 October, 2020 7.30pm 

At Rose House, 70 Barnes High Street, SW13 9LD 

AGENDA 

1. Approve minutes from the 2019 AGM 

2. Chairman’s Introduction 

3. To adopt the Annual Report and Accounts for the year to 31 December 2019 

4. To elect Trustees in accordance with clause 13(1) of the constitution** 

5. Any other business 

Meetings and proceedings of trustees 

Appointment of officers 

At the first meeting of the trustees following an Annual General Meeting, or at any subsequent meeting should a vacancy arise, the trustees shall appoint from amongst their number (including any nominated trustees appointed in accordance with clause 13(2)) office holders, as follows: 

· Chairman (who shall hold that office for no more than four years in succession); 

· Vice-Chairman; 

· Honorary Treasurer; and 

· Honorary Secretary. 

The trustees may at any time revoke such appointments 

**There should be nine elected trustees: the longest-serving three retire by rotation. There will therefore be an election for three positions. 

The names and biographies of candidates for election will be posted on the website 14 days in advance of the meeting. Any member may vote at the meeting or by proxy. Proxies must be appointed by notice in writing and must be signed by the applicable member. If you wish to apply please go online at the BCA website to https://www.barnes-ca.org/trustee-skills-summary to submit your application by 11 September 2020. Please refer to the Trustee Appointment Process on the website for further information as needed. We are seeking applications from those who have a financial background as our Treasurer is retiring after many years’ service plus those who are experienced with social media and marketing. 

In the event of a contested election, proxy registration forms will be available from Rose House during the 14 days prior to the meeting. Additionally, members whose email addresses are held by the BCA will be sent a proxy registration form as an email. A completed registration form will be valid providing it is returned by email from the member’s own email address, as recorded in the BCA’s register of members.
